"I met Derek in the summer of 2005 at a
common workplace. We found ourselves discussing our common love of
fishing and Derek mentioned he had a guide service. I took him up on
the offer and soon was a regular. My father is 84 and I take every
opportunity to get him out. Besides my dad we round up an assortment
of friends, from rank beginner to regular fisherman. Derek
accommodated all our skill levels. I have been a lifelong fisherman,
but fishing with Derek has allowed us to fish areas and runs we have
always dreamed about. He has an excellent grasp of a wide range of
areas and techniques. About all you can ask from any guide these
days is to work hard all day; to have quality equipment, lures or
bait; to have a good knowledge of runs and fish behavior and to fish
good water, altering techniques or approaches as conditions change.
Derek does all of these things extremely well and our success
fishing with him has matched his intensity and enthusiasm. We have
now spent many quality hours on the water and I can't say enough
