My
name is Derek Anderson and I am an outdoor enthusiast! I enjoy all
outdoor activities including, hiking, camping, and boating. I also
love my trips to the back country in Idaho deer and elk hunting with
my brother and life long friends.
Currently, I hold a US Coast Guard Master License and am trained
in CPR and Fire Aid. I previously volunteered as a Fire Fighter
for district #45 and hope to return to that one day soon.
My true passion however is fishing! I have been fishing for Salmon
and Steelhead for over 20 years. I started fishing for Salmon and
Steelhead at the age of 8 when I caught my very first Steelhead
on the Cowlitz River. It was the first time I was invited to fish
with "the men" and I was hooked instantly. My dad did
not get out the door to go fishing without me at his side. I spent
my first years Steelhead fishing on the Snoqualmie and Skykomish
River banks. I have fished countless hours at the confluence where
the Tolt and Snoqualmie Rivers meet. My dad purchased "our"
first jet sled when I was 12 years old and I took over as Captain
at the age of 13.
At the age of 18, I bought my first drift boat and this is where
I really learned the behavior and characteristics of Steelhead and
Salmon. I fished many of the streams on the Olympic Peninsula including
the Hoh, Bogachiel, Humptulips, and Wynoochee Rivers. I also have
countless days on the northern Puget Sound Rivers. Currently, I
enjoy guiding on the Snoqualmie, Skykomish, Sultan, Skagit, Cowlitz,
Sauk, Wynoochee, Columbia and Snake Rivers.
Fishing is my passion and I would like to make it yours as well.
I take guiding very seriously and love to see my client's eyes light
up when that rod bends over and that reel starts a Screamin'! If
you have kids I encourage you to bring them as well, after all that's
how I got started.
